The tour will take you to discover one of the most famous historical centers of Sicily; loved by many and known by few, Savoca the city of art (303 m above sea level) is an ancient village, perched on a rocky hill, since 2008 and is included among the most beautiful villages in Italy; very famous because it was the set of the film “The Godfather”, by director Francis Ford Coppola.
Palazzo Trimarchi, right at the entrance to the town, in fact, still preserves the sign of the famous Bar Vitelli, the place where Michael Corleone spoke with the father of his future wife, the historical center of Savoca reserves many other pleasant surprises for the tourist such as some medieval and Renaissance buildings that alternate with Baroque buildings and buildings of the more recent twentieth century.
Our second stop today is Forza D’Agr\u00f2, with its incredible landscape, the monastery and the picturesque and intact historical center, this town was also the set of some scenes of the famous film by Coppola. We then leave the Valle D\u2019Agr\u00f2 and head towards Taormina, the pearl of the Ionian.
Taormina is the most renowned tourist centre in Sicily, a place of infinite beauty. The city is, in fact, in an elevated position overlooking the underlying bay of Giardini Naxos and from which you can admire a unique panorama, which brings together sea, sky and volcano.
But in addition to the splendid views, Taormina preserves one of the most evocative monuments of antiquity, the Greco-Roman Theatre, as well as one of the most beautiful historic centres in Italy.
