Castelmola and Taormina

Castelmola is like a beautiful panoramic balcony at the top of Taormina and the Giardini Naxos bay. From there you can admire the spectacular view of Mount Etna.
Castelmola is famous for its unique narrow, twisted alleys, and typical Sicilian houses. In Castelmola you must taste their delicious almond wine.
From Castelmola, with a 15 minutes drive, you can reach Taormina.

Taormina is on a 250m hill overlooking the Ionian sea. Besides the ancient Greek theatre, it has many old churches, elegant bars, fine restaurants, and antique shops. From Taormina, in about a forty-five minute drive, you can reach Europe’s largest active volcano, Mount Etna. Just south of Taormina there is the Isola Bella, a nature reserve.
The most amazing monument in Taormina is the Greek theatre, which is one of the most celebrated ruins in Sicily, for its remarkable preservation and the beauty of its situation. The Theatre is frequently used for operatic and theatrical performances and for concerts.
